All other colleges/faculties/institutes and departments will have regular classes.

Regular classes for Medicine, Nursing and CRS will resume on June 30, 2009.

Regular Office transactions will resume on June 23, Tuesday at the following satellite offices:

For Nursing and CRS: Room 101, Ground Floor, Tan Yan Kee Building Telephone number 406-1611 loc 8538.

For Medicine and Surgery: Room 3G, Third Floor, Tan Yan Kee Building

To prevent the spread of the AH1N1 virus, we enjoin all the members of the Thomasian community to strictly adhere to the guidelines released by the Department of Health and the UST Task Force for AH1N1 as circulated by the Office of the Secretary General.

We pray to God that this pandemic that has descended upon us will soon come to pass and that the members of our community who are now sick will soon regain their health. We also place ourselves under the care and protection of Mary, our Mother, Help of the Sick.

In connection with this, the Office of the Secretary general released this circular to be disseminated to all students, faculty members and non-academic employees of the university:

University of Santo Tomas

22 June 2009

To all officials, faculty members and students of the different colleges/faculties/institutes and departments:

The health and well-being of all the members of the Thomasian community is a concern that all of us share. We therefore reiterate the need for all of us to strictly observe the following instructions:

If you have fever of flu-like illness, please do not report for work or class. Stay at home, consult a physician, rest and take the necessary medication.

If you have travelled abroad, observe the mandatory 10-day self quarantine to start from arrival date, even if there are no symptoms. If fever, cough, sore throat and colds manifest within the span of the 10-day quarantine period, consult the doctor nearest you and notify by phone the UST Health Service at 731-4311; 406-1611 loc. 8211. The UST Health Service is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Monday to Saturday).

We are appealing to your sense of Christian duty to comply with the aforementioned guidelines. We pray to God that this pandemic that has descended upon us will soon come to pass. And for the members of our community who are now sick, we pray that they will soon regain their health.

We also place ourselves under the care and protection of Mary, our Mother, Help of the Sick

From the Office of the Secretary General
