Gamman Open House 2009 A Success!
The First Gamman Open House: Get to Know GBE Orientation was held last November 13, 2009 at Room 219 of the UST Medicine Building. Despite the morning suspension of classes (due to the Manila Forum with Hillary Clinton) and the mid-afternoon rains, the event was deemed successful and productive.
The event started with an opening prayer led by Gamman Lord Eric Roudel Ecalnir followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Faculty adviser Gamman Lord Dr. Noel Martin Bautista delivered the opening remarks followed by a series of talks by Mrs. Josie Vallejo, mother of Gamman Lord Andrew Vallejo, present Grand Chancellor Gamman Lord Roque Xerxes Torres, Gamman Lord Greg Jeferson Ilagan, Gamman Lord Al-Jazzer Angas, 2009 Medicine Boards second placer Gamman Lord Dr. Erick Sta Maria Mendoza, Gamman Lord Dr. Sherwin Pontanilla and Gamman Edgar Rosendo dela Cruz.
The event was followed by the showing of a video entitled “A Gamman Journey” and the event capped by the singing of the GBE Hymn.
Then immediately after, the affair transferred to the RFS Building along Dapitan Street for the ‘Back-To-School’ and GBE Mini-Reunion Party.

Gamman Lord Erick Sta Maria Mendoza, August 2009 Medicine Boards second placer, will be one of the speakers at the “Gamman Open House: Get to Know GBE” scheduled on November 13, 2009, Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Room 219, UST Medicine Building.
Lord Erick became a Gamman brod in January 2005, a solo member of the batch 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS. He hails from Meycauayan, Bulacan.
Lord Erick graduated Magna Cum Laude from the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 2008 and Cum Laude from BS Biology Accelerated Program from the UST College of Science in 2004. He took his internship at the UST Hospital and plans to specialize in Internal Medicine, also at the same hospital.
When asked for a message to Thomasian medical students, especially to future GBE brods, he had this to say:
“Study hard and be the best of what you can be but don’t forget to enjoy every day of your med school. Med school is very demanding but never let it be reason enough to miss out other things in life you still want to do.”
“Your stay in med school will be much more meaningful if you have mentors, brothers and friends whom you could share every victory or hardship you will encounter along the way.”
“Hail GBE!”
